Practical answer
Separate plants with dry root balls from plants that are already dead or rotting before changing the whole schedule.
What to check first
- Check that the controller has power and the schedule is actually enabled.
- Run each zone manually and watch where water does and does not appear.
- Look for wet paving, dry end-of-line plants, leaking fittings, and blocked drippers.
- Compare the affected plants with the irrigation line layout if visible.
What not to assume
- Do not replace parts, plants, or products before checking the basic cause.
- Do not compare quotes until the scope, urgency, access, and photos are clear.
- Do not assume advice from cooler climates applies unchanged to July and August in Cyprus.
When this needs more than a quick check
Collect more detail or request help if:
- plants are dying while the system appears to run
- one zone has weak pressure or does not open
- water is leaking near walls, paving, or the pool area
- the system needs seasonal redesign rather than a quick timer change
Details to collect before requesting help
- photos of the controller, valves, pipes, drippers, and dry areas
- garden size, planting type, and whether there are pots, trees, hedges, or lawn
- current schedule if known
- city or village and how urgent the repair is
